Reader account and Google sign-in

Google sign-in creates your reader space and lets you find your books. The site receives a Google identifier, your name and email address. Your Google password is not shared with the site. Creating an account does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Newsletter signup is optional and requires consent followed by email confirmation. Emails include an unsubscribe option.

Reader reviews

Reviews collect a display name, private email address, rating, text and language. The email is confirmed and the review moderated before publication. Only the display name, rating and text become public.

Contact form

The contact form sends your name, email, subject and message to the site team so they can respond to your request.

Analytics and cookies

Necessary cookies support sign-in and store your choices. Optional audience measurement starts only after consent and helps manage the site. Choices are kept for six months and can be changed in preferences. Favourites and bookmarks stay on your device.

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability under the applicable conditions. Your reader space lets you export your data and delete your account. For other requests use the contact below. You may complain to the CNIL or your local data protection authority.

Retention periods

Analytics events are retained for 90 days. Unconfirmed newsletter registrations are deleted after 30 days.

Reader account and Google sign-in: Account data and the library are retained while the account is in use, until deletion from the reader area. Deletion also removes messages, reviews and newsletter subscriptions associated with the same email address. The link between downloads and the account is removed after 90 days or when the account is deleted.
Notifications: The subscription is retained to deliver requested notifications. Unsubscribing in Preferences deletes the subscription stored for that device. Withdrawing browser permission alone blocks notifications without necessarily deleting the server record immediately.

Notifications

Notifications are optional and requested only when you choose them. The service stores your browser subscription and selected topics. You can unsubscribe in preferences or your browser settings.

Services used

Technical services include Hostinger for hosting and email, Cloudflare for security and distribution, and Google for reader-initiated sign-in. Their own technical processing may apply.

When an EPUB or PDF is served after sign-in, a private record links your account to the novel, format, date and time of the request. The administrator can view this record to monitor book distribution. The account link is removed after 90 days or when you delete your account. Events without identity and totals are retained. Records still linked to your account are included in the data export in your reader space.

Cookies and storage on your device

Accepting and refusing analytics take the same number of clicks. You can change your choice here at any time. Refusal does not prevent reading or downloads. Visit analytics stay off without consent, including when your browser sends DNT or GPC. Your choice, its version and its date are stored in the preference cookie.

cv-consent: Remember your acceptance or refusal of analytics. 180 days.
cv-reader: Keep you signed in to your reader account. Up to 30 days, or until sign-out.
cv-oauth: Secure the current Google sign-in. Up to 10 minutes.
cv-locale: Remember your chosen language. 1 year.
cv-admin: Maintain the administrator’s session. Up to 8 hours.

Favourites, bookmarks, catalogue view, notification topics and the subscribed device identifier use local storage to provide your chosen features. They remain on this device until removed or until site data is cleared; disabling notifications removes their identifier and topics. App resources and excerpts you save may be cached for offline reading. This storage is not used for advertising.

Analytics are processed by the site server without a third-party advertising tool. For permitted visits, a daily fingerprint helps estimate visits; measurement events are deleted after 90 days. Cloudflare security and, when enabled, the Turnstile anti-abuse check may process technical data to protect forms. Social network links are plain links without embedded players.

Google

During Google sign-in, your profile photo URL is also saved if Google provides it, so your avatar can appear in your reader space. The photo loads from Google without sending the address of the page you are viewing. This request still sends your IP address and the browser’s usual technical information to Google.
